How to: Use Autocapture
Autocapture is easy!
1) Enter the vaccine you’ve given into your PMS as normal, including the batch numbers if possible
2) Whilst still on the clinical records screen, press the ‘Print Screen’ button. This will capture the information on screen.
• Press the PRINTSCREEN (PrtScn) key on your keyboard to capture the screen. For some keyboards this may be: Fn + PrtScn.
• If this opens the ‘Snip tool’, you need to then select the camera icon and ‘full screen’.
• Your screenshot is now saved in your computer’s clipboard.
TIP You can turn off the Snip tool to make things quicker - see ‘Quicker screenshots’ below for instructions.
3) Navigate to Boop and press the ‘Submit Capture’ button
4) Boop will automatically find the pet, or if necessary, create a new record. Simply double check the details are correct - especially the email address , mobile number and chip details.
5) That’s it!
TIP: Quicker screenshots
To turn off the snip tool and capture the screen in a single button press, you can disable it:
Open Settings (Windows+I)
Click Accessibility
Click the Keyboard page
Turn off the toggle switch: ‘Use the Print screen key to open screen capture’
Troubleshooting:
If you can’t get the screenshot to work, try doing a test using the Paint App:
Perform the screenshot as above
Open Paint:
• Click the Start menu and search for “Paint.”
Paste the Screenshot:
• Once Paint is open, press Ctrl + V on your keyboard to paste the screenshot into Paint.
• You can also click on the Paste button in the toolbar at the top of the Paint window.
If your screenshot does not appear then you are not managing take the screenshot correctly.
On a Mac?
You can screenshot too on a Mac. The keyboard shortcut is different - press SHIFT + CONTROL + COMMAND (⌘) + 3. It’s a bit fiddly but with practise gets much easier!
